  • Jurassic Coast (1 km)- Towards the end of the Jurassic period and the start of the Cretaceous period, Dorset was covered by swamps and lagoons in which the dinosaurs roamed. We know this because dinosaur footprints have been preserved in the rocks that are found around the Swanage area.
